Career Compass program connects FGCU students with employers

The Bonita Springs Area Chamber of Commerce hosted 60 Florida Gulf Coast University students and 20 local employers on March 29, launching the Career Compass program. Career Compass is a program to give students from a variety of disciplines the chance to participate in both practice and informational interviews with employers.

“Job placement in this area can be challenging for students who might be unaware of the many wonderful opportunities available in Southwest Florida,” said Tiffany Esposito, president and CEO of the Bonita Springs Area Chamber of Commerce. “We are thrilled that we could connect employers and students through the Career Compass program to provide introductions for both groups. The feedback so far has been phenomenal.”

The students included upper and underclassmen from a variety of majors. The program gave them the opportunity to have conversations with local employers about career paths and practice their interviewing skills.
