Karysia Demarest, executive director of the Golisano Children’s Museum of Naples (C’mon), has been selected by The Harvard Club of Naples to receive a scholarship to participate in an upcoming Harvard Business School leadership program titled “Strategic Perspectives in Nonprofit Management.” Tailored to nonprofit executive directors and CEOs, this Executive Education program explores proactive methods for mastering nonprofit leadership in uncertain times.
Demarest has been involved with C’mon for 14 years, first as a volunteer, then as finance director and for the past three years as executive director. When asked what she values most about this opportunity, Demarest replied, “C’mon is growing and developing from a start-up that sometimes struggled, to a toddler learning its way. I want to help C’mon take the next step and I believe the information gained by some of the most respected names in business and nonprofit leadership will provide insight that will allow me to lead organizational change by developing customized strategies and effective implementation plans.”
Demarest heads to Harvard in July for a one-week intensive study.
