Ken Dobbs, a certified personal trainer with 11 years of experience, has been named manager of Fyzical Fitness in Port Charlotte.
“Ken has been employed here for almost seven years and has been the assistant manager for three years,” said Dr. Wayne Goffin, co-owner of Fyzical Fitness with his wife, Barb. “His creative training methods, experience and personal demeanor make him a favorite with his clients. We are looking forward to him taking Fyzical Fitness to the next level.”
Dobbs holds certifications from the National Academy of Sports Medicine as a specialist in personal training, corrective exercise, performance enhancement, golf fitness and youth exercise.
He is also certified through the Titleist Performance Institute to better train golfers. He has the knowledge and experience necessary to help golfers improve their game through proper program design.
“Every one of his golfers has seen improvement on the course through time in the gym,” said Goffin. “Ken does more than required to maintain his certifications to be the best trainer he can be.”
Dobbs is an avid distance runner who has competed in 26.2-mile marathons in the Florida cities of Celebration, Gainesville, Stuart and West Palm Beach. He plans on qualifying for the Boston Marathon in the near future.
Dobbs and his wife, Tammy, have two children. The family moved to Florida from the Atlanta area in 2010. Dobbs and his wife are coaches in Upward Sports, a nonprofit Christian sports league for youth athletes, and are in involved in the Special Olympics.
