Come support Southwest Florida’s entrepreneurs and startups at 1 Million Cups® Naples and hear why they created their startups and the challenges they face.
1 Million Cups works to empower entrepreneurs at events nationwide. Based on the belief that entrepreneurs discover solutions and engage with their communities over a million cups of coffee, Kansas City-based Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation developed 1MC in 2012 as a free program to educate, engage and inspire entrepreneurs and startups. It’s held Wednesday mornings, either monthly, twice monthly or weekly.
Presenting on Dec. 12 will be:
• Stabilized Steps, a patented device for walkers that’s used for injury rehab or by seniors and the elderly. It helps stabilize walkers on various terrains, including beaches and grass, and helps prevent falls and helps people stand, sit or get up after a fall. It easily attaches to the bottom of a walker, allowing users to be more stable, increasing safety and independence indoors and outdoors, and giving users confidence and stability.
• Bambooty Bodygear, unique tie-dyed bamboo clothing and headgear that fills a void in the synthetic performance fabric market (Dry Fit and Under Armour). Bambooty Bodygear is made from natural fiber (heavy-duty bamboo, organic cotton and elastane), with natural, superior qualities: it wicks and is a fire retardant.
• The Nickel Ride, a free, community-based, eco-friendly ride-sharing service that’s now in five cities, including Naples, where a ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held on Dec. 14. Its mission is to be the leading provider of OOH (Out-of-Home) Advertising and to inspire people to refrain from using cars, trucks and other carbon-emitting transportation while traveling locally — reducing traffic congestion in high-density downtown areas while supporting local commerce.
Southwest Florida startups have six minutes to present their business or service, followed by 20 minutes of questions or advice from the audience. Coffee will be provided by Grumpy Goat Coffee Company and paid for by event sponsor iPartnerMedia.

Innovative Southwest Florida businesses and startups that are less than 5 years old and open to community engagement can apply to present at 1MC Naples by going to: www.1millioncups.com/naples. 1MC Naples is held the second Wednesday of every month.
