BONITA SPRINGS, Fla. (Feb. 15, 2019) – Bonita Springs Utilities Inc. invites its members for an open house and informational tours Saturday, March 23, from 10 a.m.to 2 p.m. Member Appreciation Day will be held at the customer service building and water plant at 11900 E. Terry St. in Bonita Springs.
Members can tour the two water plants and new customer service building, in addition to enjoying food and refreshments. The family-friendly event offers the opportunity for members to learn about the utility’s operations and see how water is processed. Kid-friendly activities such as face painting and balloon animals will also be available.
BSU employees will lead walking tours and explain how the reverse-osmosis and lime-softening water treatment plants convert raw water from underground aquifers into pure drinking water. The water from these two processes is blended together to provide optimum taste and purity before it is sent to members’ homes and businesses.
Bonita Springs Utilities Inc. is a not-for-profit water and wastewater utility cooperative founded by local citizens in 1970.
