The Best Western Plus Beach Resort on Fort Myers Beach has received Best Western® Hotels & Resorts Chairman’s Award, the brand’s highest honor for outstanding quality standards.
The Chairman’s Award recognizes the Best Western hotels that score in the top 5 percent of more than 2,100 North American properties, with respect to cleanliness and maintenance inspection scores. Hotels must also meet Best Western’s requirements for design and high customer service scores to qualify for the award.
“It’s an honor to be receiving the Chairman’s Award from Best Western, said Tim Malbon, managing general partner of The Best Western Plus Beach Resort. “This award reflects our commitment to providing quality accommodations and services. Our housekeeping and maintenance teams have worked tremendously hard to ensure our guests’ stay is nothing short of exceptional, and we are proud to have achieved this level of success.”
Malbon and his cousin, Jeff Malbon, general manager, operate the family-owned resort with family members. Tim Malbon attributes much of their success to hands-on management that is in tune with the needs of the guests. “We want to ensure our guests have the best experience they can,” said Malbon. “We treat our guests and our staff like family.” Both Tim and Jeff Malbon have been working at the resort since the early 90’s when their fathers ran the hotel.
Also demonstrating the Malbon family’s dedication to guest satisfaction, the hotel is a 2017 recipient of Best Western’s M.K. Guertin Award, the brand’s most esteemed honor, a five-year winner of Best Western’s Champion Customer Care Award and a 2015 winner of the chain’s Green Award, recognizing commitment to conserving resources and reducing carbon footprint. The resort has been awarded the Trip Advisor Certificate of Excellence for six years, earning a spot in the TripAdvisor Hall of Fame. Tim Malbon serves on the 300-member Best Western board of governors. Jeff and Tim were also named Best Tourism Boss by the Lee Visitor and Convention Bureau in 2016.
