In conjunction with closing his engineering firm, Dave McKee has retired from the Bonita Springs Utilities Inc. board of directors.
McKee and his wife, Janet, are moving to North Carolina to be closer to their family. A professional engineer and Bonita Springs resident since 1990, he has served on the utilities board since 2002 and been president, vice president and treasurer over the years.
“Over the past 14 years, BSU has benefited greatly from Dave’s expertise and commitment as a director,” said John Jenkins, BSU executive director. “We will miss his presence and contributions at BSU, and wish him the best in this exciting move.”
The board unanimously chose Brian Farrar to replace McKee. He will serve until the 2017 annual election, at which time the general membership will vote to elect a director for McKee’s unexpired term.
Farrar is president and managing member of BCF Management Group, where he advises clients on land asset management and construction projects. Farrar also serves as senior adviser with Dawson & Associates Inc., in Washington, D.C., where he provides key insight into federal permitting, land use and other policies.
He is chairman of the board of commissioners for Lee County Mosquito Control District and serves on the foundation board of directors for the Bonita Springs Area Chamber of Commerce.
Other BSU board members are Paul Attwood, Robert Bachman, Frank Liles, Mike Malloy, John Mathes, Ben Nelson, Robert Sharkey and Jim Strecansky.
Bonita Springs Utilities Inc. is a not-for-profit water and wastewater utility founded by local citizens in 1971.
