Gov. Rick Scott today named Jimmy Patronis, former state representative, as the state’s Chief Financial Officer. Patronis will succeed Jeff Atwater, who announced his reisgnation earlier this year to take a position at Florida Atlantic University.
“I am honored to appoint Jimmy Patronis as Florida’s Chief Financial Officer,” Scott said. “As a small business owner, Jimmy has been a successful job creator and has helped grow Panama City’s economy. I know that he will bring his wealth of private sector experience with him to Tallahassee.”
Patronis said he was honored by the appointment. “I’m ready to help keep Florida moving forward,” he said. Patronis served four terms in the Florida House beginning in 2006. His family operates the restaurant Captain Anderson’s in Panama City.
