Vacasa, the leading dedicated vacation rental management service, today announces its first tour operator partnership program, which will offer Vacasa homes as part of select agency travel packages. Vacasa will launch the program with the acquisition of 92 vacation rental contracts previously managed by Universal Vacations, with operations in Bradenton, Fort Myers and Naples for more than 25 years.
Headquartered in Portland, Oregon, Vacasa manages more than 4,100 vacation rentals across 15 states and six countries, employing more than 1,300 people. This year, The Company launched a strategic partnership program, and to date has partnered with or acquired more than 20 businesses across the U.S. This most recent partnership with Universal Vacations is Vacasa’s ninth in Florida, where it has expanded its number of units by more than 200 percent this year alone.
“Florida has been a major growth market for us this year, and we plan to continue to develop that market in 2017 and beyond,” says Vacasa CEO Eric Breon. “While we’ve been able to consistently book the homes we manage using our yield management technology, we’re excited to pilot this new agency program to secure even greater financial results for our homeowners.”
According to past booking data, Universal Vacations drives close to 70 percent of bookings through tour operators, making it a core component of the company’s business model. Vacasa hopes to leverage this booking channel alongside its proprietary marketing technology to drive additional bookings and increase overall revenue for homeowners.
“In partnership with Vacasa, we are proud to offer our homeowners an expanded suite of marketing technology, which we expect to enhance the owner experience and bring hundreds more guests to experience the convenience and charm of our vacation homes,” says Gary Young. Young, alongside his wife Caroline, has owned Universal Vacations for 17 years. “We look forward to being able to focus on our real estate business, Universal Team Realty, and we will continue to work with our clients to help prospective buyers find their own piece of paradise in southwest Florida, while referring homeowners to Vacasa for an unmatched management experience” says Young.
