Bonita Springs City Attorney Audrey Vance was recently elected president-elect of the Florida Municipal Attorney’s Association. Vance is Board Certified by the Florida Bar in City, County, and Local Government Law. With 25 years of practice, Vance has served as the Bonita Springs City Attorney since its incorporation in 2000.
Vance, a Florida native, received her Bachelors of Science, with honors, from the University of Florida in Environmental Sciences. After receiving her Juris Doctorate at the University of Miami in 1988, Vance immediately began her career at the State Attorney’s Office as an assistant state attorney for Joseph D’Alessandro.
After prosecuting misdemeanor, juvenile and some felony cases, Vance was hired by the Lee County Attorney’s Office. During her more than a decade at the Lee County Attorney’s Office, Vance practiced law with the Land Use Division and the General Services section.
In June of 2000, the Bonita Springs City Council chose Vance to serve as their interim city attorney, offering her the regular city attorney position in October of that year. Since that time, she has been responsible for all aspects of the legal needs of the city of Bonita Springs.
In addition to working for the city of Bonita Springs, Vance is an active community leader. She previously served as the president of the Southwest Florida Association of Women Lawyers.
