Harborview Capital Group and Torose Equities acquire Fishermen’s Village
Harborview Capital Group and Torose Equities have acquired Fishermen’s Village for $43 million through a court-supervised receivership process. Senior debt financing for the acquisition was provided by Lake Michigan Credit Union. The waterfront property includes more than 90,000 square feet of retail space, 47 hotel suites and a marina that will require substantial reconstruction following hurricane damage. Some places are measured by the buildings that stand on them. Others are measured by the memories they create. For more than four decades, Fishermen’s Village has been one of those places. Families have celebrated milestones along its waterfront, visitors have discovered Charlotte Harbor, and generations of residents have come to view it as an enduring symbol of Punta Gorda. The acquisition begins a new chapter centered on stewardship, preservation and long-term investment.
A Landmark That Belongs to a Community
The history of Fishermen’s Village is inseparable from the history of Punta Gorda. Following the hurricanes of 2024 and the receivership process, the partnership recognized that the property’s future required more than capital—it required a long-term commitment to the community.
Harborview: A Hometown Steward
Harborview Capital Group invests in hospitality, retail, industrial and mixed-use real estate with a philosophy rooted in responsible stewardship. Co-founder Anthony Dubbaneh has called Punta Gorda home since 1990. Co-founder Ankur Patel is a Punta Gorda native, giving both founders a personal connection to Fishermen’s Village that makes this investment uniquely meaningful.
Torose: Institutional Experience
Torose Equities brings institutional investment discipline and operational expertise. Together with Harborview’s local leadership, the firms believe they are uniquely positioned to preserve Fishermen’s Village while investing in its future.
A Shared Vision for Punta Gorda
The partnership intends to work closely with the City of Punta Gorda, merchants, marina tenants, tourism organizations, and residents. Their objective is to restore and enhance the property while preserving the character that has made Fishermen’s Village one of Southwest Florida’s most beloved waterfront destinations.
Leadership Perspective
Anthony Dubbaneh: “We are honored to become the next stewards of a place that has meant so much to our family and our community. Fishermen’s Village is the next step in our long-term commitment to investing in Punta Gorda. We previously acquired the former Muscle Car City property, transforming it into a renewed community asset, and we also acquired the Military Heritage Museum complex, where we are investing to ensure it remains an important destination for residents and visitors. We view each of these investments as a commitment to strengthening the community for generations to come.”
Ankur Patel: ‘This is a responsibility we take seriously, and we look forward to working alongside the City and the community for many years to come.’
Scott Sherman: ‘Fishermen’s Village is an exciting addition to Torose’s growing Gulf Coast portfolio. We’re proud to build on our investment in the Midtown at Bonita Springs and our investments in St. Petersburg, and we look forward to continuing to invest in exceptional properties and communities across Florida’s Gulf Coast while partnering with Harborview to preserve this landmark for future generations.’
Looking Ahead
The seller was represented by SVN Commercial Partners, with Ashley Bloom and Corrie Gates serving as the listing agents for the transaction.
Ownership believes the Village’s greatest asset has always been its people. Every investment will be guided by collaboration with the community and a shared vision with the City of Punta Gorda to ensure Fishermen’s Village remains a defining waterfront destination for generations.
