While Southwest Hospitals hospitals have kept emergency operations up in the wake of Hurricane Irma, institutions now report they are getting regular business back in order as well.
Bevin Holzchuh, system director of Marketing and PR for Bayfront Health Port Charlotte and North Port, reported progress as of 1 p.m. yesterday: “We are happy to report that Bayfront Health Punta Gorda’s Emergency Room is now open and seeing patients. Internal ancillary departments including radiology, lab, pharmacy, and others are staffed and assisting the ER physicians and staff. Patients requiring hospital admission will be stabilized and transferred to Bayfront Health Port Charlotte until the Punta Gorda campus is opened hospital-wide next week.”
