Alta Resources Corp., a global customer service outsourcing company supporting Fortune 500 companies, released plans to build a new location at Skyplex on Paul J. Doherty Parkway in Fort Myers. The new $21-million, three-story, 90,000-square-foot office building is made possible in part through partnership and coordination with Lee County, Lee County Port Authority and Enterprise Florida.
“We’re excited about the new space and what it means for us and our employees,” said Jim Beré, Alta Resources chairman and CEO. “Our investment in this new building reaffirms our dedication to creating jobs in Lee County. It also reinforces our long-term commitment to the community.”
“Alta Resources’ new Skyplex building is a great example of what can be accomplished through public-private partnerships,” said Lee County Commissioner Cecil Pendergrass. “Lee County’s economy is thriving, thanks to companies like Alta Resources that continue to invest in jobs and growth. The Lee County Commission is pleased to play a part in Alta’s ongoing success.”
Construction on the new building, which is the first phase on the 12.1-acre site leased by Alta Resources from the Lee County Port Authority, will begin spring 2019. The site provides space for a second building to be built in a future phase of the expansion. With a targeted completion of November 2020, the building will be able to accommodate more than 1,000 employees.
“Throughout this process, we have worked closely with Lee County and Port Authority staff, as well as Enterprise Florida” said Beré. “I cannot overstate how greatly appreciative we are of all of their efforts to help make this expansion a reality.”
The Skyplex location near the I-75 and Daniels Parkway corridor serves as an ideal central location for Alta Resources employees, who commute from different areas of Southwest Florida. The new site is also close to Alta Resources’ two buildings on Gateway Boulevard.
“The building will have a nice, clean design,” Beré said. “Most importantly, the space will be employee-friendly. We plan to include a landscaped pond, walking trail and outdoor patio area for employees to enjoy. A sidewalk system will also be put into place connecting our site with adjacent properties and roadways.”
“Much of our success in Fort Myers is directly related to the incredible workforce we’ve been able to hire here,” said Beré. “And as a result, we’re transitioning to a more year-round workforce, as well increasing the number of positions we have to fill. It’s a win-win for everyone.”
Marking its five-year anniversary of Fort Myers operations, Alta Resources has grown from one client and 300 seasonal employees in 2013 to more than 700 full- and part-time employees, all of whom provide support for its globally recognized clients in the automotive, insurance, entertainment and sports apparel industries, such as Fiat Chrysler Automobiles and Reebok. In recent years, a more diversified clientele has also meant an increase of year-round positions, including jobs in sales, customer care, and member services.
Alta Resources headquarters and fulfillment center is in Neenah, Wisconsin, and additional locations are in Brea, California and Pasig City, Philippines.
