Come support Southwest Florida’s entrepreneurs and startups at 1 Million Cups® Naples and hear why Galexa USA’s Live Smart Builders and Startup Cruise created their businesses and the challenges they face.
Based on the belief that entrepreneurs discover solutions and engage with their communities over a million cups of coffee, Kansas City-based Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation developed 1MC in 2012 as a free nationwide program to educate, engage and inspire entrepreneurs and startups.
1MC Naples is held the second Wednesday of every month, from 9-10 a.m. January’s presenters will be:
• Galexa USA’s Live Smart Builders, a Naples startup that will be building innovative, affordable-housing and developments for working-class families in Southwest Florida over the next 18 months. By using digitally engineered, prefabricated, hurricane-rated components, homes can be built in half the time. Live Smart Builders’ target market is people in blue-collar jobs, such as police, nurses, firemen, teachers, construction workers, government workers, waiters and others. The startup also offers state-of-the-art commercial building designs and construction and plans on building homes and commercial buildings nationwide.
• Startup Cruise, a Tampa-based, veteran-owned business that’s part hackathon, three-day cruise and global entrepreneur community geared to empower startups. Hop on a Royal Caribbean cruise liner in Fort Lauderdale on April 20, 2019, and spend three days with experts as you head to Jamaica and Haiti during an on-board accelerated startup boot camp and competition. There, you will conceive, build and launch your business. The cost is $1,000-$1,250. Startup Cruise’s partners include Veterans Florida, Veterans Trust, Junior Achievement and Twilio.
Southwest Florida startups have six minutes to present their business or service, followed by 20 minutes of questions or advice from the audience. Coffee will be provided by White Moon Coffee Co. and paid for by Food & Thought, The Organic General Store, our January sponsors.
