FRLA Releases Recommendations Submitted to Governor DeSantis’ ReOpen Florida Task Force

From Carol B. Daver of FRLA

Dear FRLA Members,

As we shared on Friday, the Florida Restaurant and Lodging Association drafted Critical COVID-19 Guidance Standards for Hospitality Re-Opening in Florida,” in coordination with the National Restaurant Association and the American Hotel & Lodging Association (AHLA), and shared it with Governor DeSantis’ Re-Open Florida Task Force Executive Committee. COVID-19 has devastated Florida’s hospitality and tourism industries, and while we are focused on public health, our goal is to reopen Florida based on scientific evidence and proper safety measures that inspire consumer confidence.

Many of you have asked what you can do to support our efforts. This weekend, the Governor’s Re-Open Florida Task Force launched a public comment submission portal open to all Floridians and asked for public feedback. We encourage you to visit the portal, linked below, to share your thoughts on safely re-opening Florida businesses and getting our industry on track to recovery. We also ask that you share your support for FRLA’s Re-Opening Standards and Recommendations.

If you missed any of the Task Force or Industry Working Group meetings, the agendas and presentations are available online at www.flgov.com/COVID-19 and the audio recordings are available at www.theFloridaChannel.org

This global emergency has tested us, but we are beginning to see the light at the end of this dark tunnel. Although we know it will not happen overnight, together we will rebuild our outstanding industry. We are a resilient. We are #HospitalityStrong.
