NABOR® Coordinates Delivery of 300 Crates of Corn to Families in Need

NAPLES, FL  – In partnership with U.S. Sugar, Duda Fresh Farm Foods and Cheney Brothers, the Naples Area Board of REALTORS® (NABOR®), through its NABOR® Helps – Farm to Neighbor program, coordinated the delivery of a second shipment of 300 crates of corn to Meals of Hope’s distribution center in Collier County. The NABOR® Helps – Farm to Neighbor community service program is helping to replenish food pantry reserves, which have been depleted following a surge in demand from COVID-19-related unemployment in Collier County.

As the coordination partner, NABOR® helped distribute 500 crates of corn to Meals of Hope, the Benison Center in Immokalee, and St. Matthews House in Naples and Immokalee. The second shipment provides more fresh produce to Meals of Hope partner agencies and food banks that supply meals to individuals and families facing food insecurity in Collier County. The program also supports Florida farms facing recent supply chain disruptions. Fresh produce delivery coordination is ongoing (as it becomes available). A third delivery of crates of corn by NABOR® has occurred to residents and served by the Everglades City Food Bank.

The 300 crates of recently harvested sweet corn was grown by U.S. Sugar farmers, packaged by Duda Fresh Farm Foods, shipped by Cheney Brothers and unloaded at Meals of Hope by Naples Area Board of REALTORS® President Lauren Melo, Vice President/Secretary Adam Vellano, Directors Leah Paige and Paula Angelopoulos-Urbinati, volunteer Katrina Lombard, NABOR® CEO Marty Manion, and NABOR® Administrative Assistant to the Executive Committee Deborah Linville.
