IWMF Robotics Student Aids Medical Community with Innovation

Cayden Keene, a ninth grade Fort Myers High School student, didn’t hesitate to innovate a solution to the problem facing our health care providers during this global pandemic. IWMF teaches students to apply their learned knowledge to analyze, design, and troubleshoot solutions to real-world problems.

Our robotics program, introduced Cayden to the innovative possibilities of the 3D printer. Cayden modified the design and assembled 6 sets of a respiratory fan body needed for face masks to protect healthcare providers from the Coronavirus.

The assembled pieces were shipped to Dr. Stephen Brown and his pulmonology group in Tampa, Florida and will be used to protect our healthcare workers
