Wright Construction Group Breaks Ground on City of Sebastian Public Works Complex
Sebastian, FL. (Aug. 2, 2021)— Wright Construction Group, Inc. has started construction on the new City of Sebastian Public Works Complex after breaking ground on July 9. The $9.1 million project is scheduled to be finished in April 2022.
Wright Construction Group, Inc., based in Fort Myers, is partnering with BBSW Architects to provide design-build services for the new city fleet facility and public works offices, located at 1225 Main St. in Sebastian. The Public Works Facility is adjacent to the Sebastian Municipal Airport and will have the ability to add an additional wing in the future.
The central administrative area will consist of classrooms, locker rooms, offices, breakrooms, a lobby, restrooms, storage areas, and electrical rooms. The fleet wing will have open garage bays, an enclosed vehicle bay, an equipment maintenance area, the fleet supervisor’s office, a sign shop, tire storage, a welding room, a vehicle shop, and equipment areas with lifts.
The public works building is a pre-engineered metal building with a standing seam roof and insulated wall panels for maximum energy efficiency. The back entrance of the building will be secured by automatic gates and can be accessed by authorized personnel with card readers. Employee and public parking areas will be on-site and electric vehicle charging stations will be incorporated into the project. The building design will feature concrete masonry unit (CMU) construction with a painted stucco finish.
The facility will also include two complete fueling stations as well as a vehicle wash system for city-owned vehicles.
