Star Manufacturing Hemp CEO Brian Dickerson Named to Florida Hemp Advisory Committee
Labelle, FL – Star Manufacturing Hemp is pleased to announce that Brian Dickerson, one of the company’s founders and Chief Executive Officer, has been appointed by Florida Commissioner of Agriculture and Consumer Services Nikki Fried to join the Hemp Advisory Committee.
The Hemp Advisory Committee (“HAC”), established in 2019, provides advice and recommendations to Commissioner Fried and the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services on the broad range of issues affecting Florida’s thriving hemp industry, including the growing, processing, manufacturing, and retail sales of hemp and hemp-derived products.
“The Florida hemp industry is growing at an amazing pace, but that growth comes with a number of challenges for everyone involved—from farmers to retail sellers,” remarked Dickerson. “The Commissioner’s invitation to join the HAC is an honor and provides me the opportunity to utilize my personal experience as the owner of a vertically integrated hemp business and as a lawyer and advocate with a specialized expertise in cannabis and hemp to meaningfully contribute to the Commissioner’s efforts to further Florida as the gold standard for the hemp industry in the United States.”
As his involvement in Florida’s hemp industry has grown, so has his representation of private label and over-the-counter manufacturers in the cannabis and hemp industries, where his knowledge of the ever-evolving state and federal regulatory landscape has made him a leading advocate for those in the industry across multiple states. Dickerson is also a board member with the Florida Hemp Council.
In addition to his leadership role at Star Manufacturing Hemp, Dickerson, who grew up in Naples, is a cattle rancher and also a partner in the national law firm of FisherBroyles, where he specializes in the representation of pharmaceutical companies, pharmacies, and health care practices.
