Mark Beland named community liaison at Baker Senior Center
Baker Senior Center Naples, a nonprofit organization that provides comprehensive programs and social services to support local seniors and their families, has announced the appointment of Mark R. Beland to the newly created position of Community Liaison.
In this role, Beland will work closely with Baker Senior Center Naples President and CEO Dr. Jaclynn Faffer in exploring new community partnerships and sponsorships as well as bolstering awareness of the organization through targeted speaking engagements.
“We are very excited to add Mark to our team,” Faffer said. “His many years as a Community Liaison with another local non-profit organization in the healthcare industry and his experience in sales and marketing will be particularly helpful as we continue to expand the range and scope of programs and services for older adults in our community.”
Beland brings over 40 years of professional experience to Baker Senior Center Naples having previously held positions in healthcare; print, radio and television advertising; and merchandising. Most recently, he was the Community Liaison for Avow Hospice Inc. Before that, he served as a Corporate Support Associate for WGCU Public Media.
Beland’s background in advertising includes serving as an Account Executive for Ogden Directories in Fort Myers and as an Advertising Sales Representative for the Naples Daily News. He also created a wholesale merchandising company in Southwest Florida and worked for established apparel chains like Chico’s FAS and Brooks Fashions Inc.
Originally from Bergen County, New Jersey, Beland earned his bachelor of science degree in business administration/marketing from Ramapo College in Mahwah, New Jersey. He is currently a member of the Naples Sunrise Bay Toastmasters Club, where he was the 2023 Champion of the District 48 Toastmasters International Speech Contest.
