Krawczun and Reed re-elected to lead Naples Airport Authority Noise Compatibility Committee

Richard Krawczun

The Naples Airport Authority’s Noise Compatibility Committee re-elected Richard Krawczun as Chair and Andy Reed as Vice-Chair for 2024-2025.

Originally appointed to the NCC in March 2020 and reappointed in 2024, Krawczun represents the geographic area southeast of the airport. With over 35 years of experience in local and municipal government service, Krawczun brings a wealth of public sector experience to the Committee. Having also taught at Rutgers University, he understands the critical importance of explaining complex topics in a way that the public can understand and appreciate.

Andy Reed

Reed is the NCC’s county-at-large representative and previously served on NAA’s Technical Advisory Committee for the Part 150 Noise Study. He’s currently the Director of Business Development for The Henning Group and has previously held positions in the Naples community with PBS Contractors, The Humane Society Naples and the NCEF/Naples Winter Wine Festival.  Reed is a graduate of Leadership Collier (2007) and is a board member of the University of Florida’s Historic Preservation Program.

The NCC is comprised of nine citizen volunteers who help monitor the impact of aircraft noise and make recommendations about noise-mitigation procedures for consideration by the City of Naples Airport Authority Board of Commissioners. The members serve as volunteer representatives of the Collier County Board of Commissioners, Naples City Council, general aviation pilots and six geographic areas surrounding the airport.

The NAA and NCC launched the “Please Fly Safe Fly Quiet” campaign in 2012 to encourage pilots and aircraft operators to do all they can to minimize aircraft noise. The campaign encourages pilots to observe the airport’s recommended 10 p.m. to 7 a.m. quiet hours, which currently has over 98.6% compliance. During the meeting, the NCC also adopted their calendar for 2025 which includes meetings on February 27th, May 8th and November 6th.
