Baker Senior Center Naples appoints Edwards as Geriatric Case Manager
Baker Senior Center Naples, a nonprofit organization that provides comprehensive programs and social services to support local seniors, announced the appointment of Megan Edwards as its Director of Geriatric Case Management.
In this newly created role, Edwards will expand essential services to low- and moderate-income seniors. This expansion will improve seniors’ quality of life, reduce risk of homelessness, enhance mental well-being, enhance functional stability and independence, increase access to healthcare, and result in overall better management of chronic diseases.
“Megan brings a tremendous amount of geriatric social services knowledge and experience our team,” said Dr. Jaclynn Faffer, President/CEO of Baker Senior Center Naples. “This position was generously funded by a grant from the Collier Community Foundation and we are grateful for their continued support of seniors in our community.”
Prior to joining Baker Senior Center Naples, Edwards served as Geriatric Social Services Manager for Bentley Care Center in North Naples. In this role, she planned, organized, evaluated and directed the operation of the social services function at a skilled nursing facility. Before that, she was a Geriatric Care Manager for Florida Community Care.
Edwards earned her Graduate Certification of Business Administration from the University of St. Thomas Graduate School. She also received a Bachelor’s of Psychology from the College of Saint Benedict. Edwards holds several certifications and memberships, including the Certified Care Manager (CCM), Advanced Professional Member, Aging Life Care Association, and Geriatric Case Management, Social Work.
