Jewish Federation of Greater Naples hires Nammie Ichilov as new president and CEO

The Jewish Federation of Greater Naples has hired a career educator, nonprofit leader and former Texas charter school founder as its new president and CEO.

Nammie Ichilov joins the organization after nearly five years as president and CEO of the Jewish Federation of San Antonio.

His tenure in Texas’ second largest city was marked by “Stronger Together” community-wide initiatives that significantly strengthened community alliances and combatted antisemitism; oversight and strategic transformation of the Holocaust Memorial Museum of San Antonio; a revival of local fundraising; and the robust outreach of the Jewish Community Relations Council.

Ichilov succeeds retiring president and CEO Jeffrey Feld, who steps down after a decade in a role highlighted by the 2023 opening of the Nina Iser Jewish Cultural Center. The Federation will publicly celebrate Feld’s service at a Dec. 15 retirement party.

Ichilov was selected unanimously from a nationwide search of potential candidates, said Jane Schiff, a former Jewish Federation of Greater Naples board chair who led the search committee.

“We are beyond thrilled that Nammie will be joining our Federation,” she said. “He has stellar organizational leadership, strategic planning and interpersonal skills, and has shared a compelling vision of how he will take our Jewish community to the next level.”

A native of Wales in the United Kingdom and the grandson of Holocaust survivors, Ichilov has served in executive leadership roles at Jewish day schools in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida; Scottsdale, Arizona; and Akron, Ohio, as well as founding head of school for a 1,500-student public charter school in San Antonio. He is a graduate of Rutgers University, Jewish Theological Seminary and the University of Central Florida.

“My wife Lisa and I couldn’t be happier to be back in Florida, working on behalf of the growing Jewish community in greater Naples,” Ichilov said. “It’s a privilege – and a challenge – to build on Jeffrey’s legacy of success, and one I can’t wait to undertake.”
