Naples Cancer Advisors adds specialist in gynecological oncology
Naples Cancer Advisors, a community-based, non-profit organization that provides free consultative oncology services to cancer patients and their families across Southwest Florida, announced that Dr. Marcus E. Randall, FACR, FASTRO, has joined the practice. With more than 40 years of medical experience, Dr. Randall is a specialist in gynecological oncology.
Dr. Randall earned his medical degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1982, and received the school’s Distinguished Medical Alumnus Award in 2017. He completed his residency in Radiation Oncology at the University of Virginia Medical Center. During his first faculty appointment at Wake Forest University, he was recruited to Indiana University as Chair of the Department of Radiation Oncology, where he held the William A. Mitchell Distinguished Professorship.
Subsequently, Dr. Randall became Chair of the Department of Radiation Oncology at the University of Kentucky, where he held the Markey Foundation Endowed Chair. He is board-certified by the American Board of Radiology and is a Fellow of both the American College of Radiology and the American Society for Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology.
Throughout his career, Dr. Randall has led national trials in endometrial and ovarian cancers within the Gynecologic Oncology Group (now NRG Oncology). He chaired several large randomized trials in endometrial cancer that were practice-changing, improving our knowledge of the respective roles of chemotherapy and radiation therapy in the management of early-stage and locally advanced endometrial cancer. He also chaired the Radiation Oncology Committee and was co-chair of the Uterine Corpus Committee. His clinical interests include brachytherapy and gynecologic malignancies.
“With Dr. Randall’s vast medical expertise and the comprehensive support services provided by our team, we are making a significant impact in improving outcomes for women throughout Southwest Florida,” said Lana Uhrig, Executive Director of Naples Cancer Advisors. “By offering platinum-level care and guidance, we ensure that no patient faces their cancer journey alone.”
With generous funding from its community partners, Naples Cancer Advisors provides no-cost consultative oncology services by appointment. These services include second opinions, care coordination, referrals, clinical trial navigation, financial navigation, and precision oncology services, including genetic testing and counseling for cancer patients throughout the Southwest Florida region.
