Vineyards Country Club’s North Course named among nation’s best renovated by Golf Inc.
Vineyards Country Club’s North Course in Naples has been recognized with an honorable mention in Golf Inc. magazine’s 2025 Best Renovation of the Year awards, distinguishing it as one of the top course renovations in the country.
It is the only course in Southwest Florida — public or private — to earn a spot on this year’s list.
The recognition follows the completion of a major redesign of the North Course, an 18-hole championship layout originally designed by Mark McCumber. The renovation began in March 2024 and was completed in December. Led by renowned architect Kipp Schulties and constructed by QGS Development, the project emphasized enhanced playability, sustainability and visual appeal.
Highlights of the renovation include:
- Expanded yardage and recontoured fairways
- Larger TifEagle greens for improved performance
- Aesthetic features such as stone cap walls, wood bridges and native landscaping
- Bimini Bermudagrass on tees, fairways and roughs
- Refurbished bunkers with Pro/Angle white sand
- A new Toro irrigation system and advanced drainage for water efficiency and stormwater management
The renovation complements the transformation of the club’s South Course, completed in 2023, and reinforces Vineyards Country Club’s commitment to delivering a premier golf experience.
“Being recognized by Golf Inc. is an incredible honor and a testament to the work our team has done to elevate the golf experience for our members,” said Paul Malonson, chief operating officer of Vineyards Country Club. “In a region known for exceptional golf, this national recognition reinforces our standing as one of Southwest Florida’s premier private clubs.”
“Our goal was to create a layout that felt fresh and challenging, yet timeless — rooted in the natural beauty of the region,” Schulties said. “It’s been a privilege to partner with the Vineyards team to bring that vision to life.”
The national honor adds to the club’s broader investments across its facilities and amenities, strengthening its appeal to both longtime members and prospective new ones.
