Housing Authority of the City of Fort Myers presents awards to three supporters

The Housing Authority of the City of Fort Myers presented three community awards to Congressman Byron Donalds, Representative Jenna Persons-Mulicka and the leaders and staff of the Lee County Government.

These community leaders were honored for their dedication and support at a luncheon celebrating 65 years of the Housing Authority on Oct. 2.

Donalds was the recipient of the Champions for Affordable Housing Award for his relentless dedication to the Housing Authority. He has a history of stepping in to advocate on behalf of the authority, making calls and finding solutions to keep the mission moving forward.

The Housing Advocate Award was presented to Persons-Mulicka for her understanding and support of what the Housing Authority needs to continue its impact in the community. Her unwavering dedication has made her a trusted advocate for the Housing Authority and the families it serves.

The Lee County Government was honored with the Community Impact Award, recognizing County leaders and staff for their dedication to addressing the need for affordable housing and finding solutions that ensure Fort Myers and Lee County families have safe, affordable places to live.

“These champions have played a critical role in advocating for affordable housing, securing vital resources and helping to shape innovative projects that improve the lives of families and strengthen our community,” said Marcia Davis, executive director of the Housing Authority of the City of Fort Myers. “Their dedication ensures that the Housing Authority can continue addressing the magnitude of housing needs in Fort Myers for generations to come, and we are honored to recognize them for their lasting impact.”
