Immokalee Fair Housing Alliance appoints Tammy Richelieu executive director

Immokalee Fair Housing Alliance has promoted Tammy Richelieu from chief development officer to executive director, recognizing her leadership and contributions to the organization’s mission of expanding access to affordable housing in Immokalee.

Richelieu joined Immokalee Fair Housing Alliance in 2024 as chief development officer, bringing experience in community engagement, education and nonprofit development. Since joining the organization, she has played a key role in fundraising efforts, donor relations and advancing the development of the nonprofit’s affordable housing community.

As executive director, Richelieu will continue to oversee daily operations, strategic initiatives, community partnerships and continued growth of the organization as it works to provide safe, affordable housing opportunities for farmworker and low-income families in Immokalee. The organization is developing a community that will ultimately include 128 affordable rental units, along with amenities and services designed to support residents and strengthen the broader community.

“Tammy has demonstrated a deep commitment to our mission and the families we serve,” said Arol Buntzman, chief executive officer of Immokalee Fair Housing Alliance. “Her leadership, passion for community service and ability to build meaningful relationships have made a tremendous impact on our organization. We are excited to see her continue guiding our work in this new role.

Richelieu grew up in a farming community in rural Minnesota and holds a bachelor’s degree in sociology from South Dakota State University and a master’s degree in Christian education from Union Presbyterian Seminary. Her professional background includes leadership roles focused on education, community engagement and service.

“I am honored to step into the role of executive director and continue working alongside our residents, supporters and community partners,” Richelieu said. “Immokalee Fair Housing Alliance is creating more than housing. We are building a community where families have the opportunity to truly thrive, and I look forward to continuing to help advance that mission in my new role.”
