Alamo Drafthouse Cinema opens in Naples

The cinema-eatery Alamo Drafthouse Cinema is welcoming film lovers to the movies in a big way at the company’s first-ever Florida location now open at Mercato in Naples, featuring its first shot at mini golf with HappyLand Movie Miniature Golf located in the lobby of the new theater.

Located in a 33,652-square-foot space at 9118 Strada Place in Mercato, Alamo Drafthouse Cinema’s 11 screens showcase the company’s diverse mix of blockbusters, indies, documentaries, foreign language films and repertory classics, with state-of-the-art auditoriums featuring approximately 650 newly installed luxury recliner seats and 4K digital projection. In addition to its premium cinema experience, Alamo Drafthouse Cinema Naples offers  mini golf at HappyLand Movie Miniature Golf, inspired by some of our favorite films.

“We’re thrilled to introduce the Alamo Drafthouse experience to Naples,” says Alamo Drafthouse Cinema CEO Michael Kustermann. “From our HappyLand mini golf course to our curated movie selection and innovative dining options, we’re excited to become a staple of the Naples entertainment scene.”

Each Alamo Drafthouse Cinema has a unique interior theme, and what sets the newest location apart is its golf theme, paying homage to Naples’ deep-rooted love for the sport.

Alamo Drafthouse Cinema Naples offers a world-class 9-hole mini golf course at HappyLand Movie Miniature Golf. Guests as young as three can enjoy nine holes, each featuring a sculpture inspired by some of our favorite films, including a giant T. rex and a hungry alligator. HappyLand also features a full bar with craft beers and a golf-themed signature cocktail list, including an alcohol-free option called the Victory Lap and a private label beer from local Naples brewery Riptide Brewing Co. named Chubbs’ 19th Hole Blonde Ale. The lounge and mini golf course are also available to rent for events, parties, and screenings, with multiple HDTVs and room for 50 people. HappyLand opens 30 minutes before the first movie each day and closes just after the start of the final show of the evening. Guests can start a round by purchasing a token from the concierge and redeeming it at a golf ball vending machine. Tokens cost $7 for adults, $5 for kids (14 and under), and every $20 spent at the HappyLand bar earns guests a free token.

In addition to its amenities, Alamo Drafthouse Cinema boasts a lineup of programming, featuring a mix of Hollywood blockbusters, independent films and curated specialty events. From classic favorites to family-friendly screenings during Kids Camp in the summer, there’s something for every movie enthusiast.

“Bringing the Alamo experience to Florida has been a dream of ours for years,” says Alamo Drafthouse Cinema founder and Executive Chairman Tim League. “Naples, with its vibrant community and love for the arts, is the perfect destination for our first Florida location.”

Like all Alamo Drafthouse Cinema theaters, the new Naples location offers a scratch-made food menu, local beers on draft, and craft cocktails brought to guests in their seats by servers trained to not disrupt the movie experience. Speaking of not disrupting the movie, the cinema chain’s famed No Talking/No Texting policy ensures guests can watch films free from annoying distractions. Guests are encouraged to arrive up to 30 minutes early to screenings for an ad-free preshow with funny clips, informative video essays, and more. Parking is free and easily accessible at a parking deck located behind the theater.
