Amber Barr Promoted to Vice President of Programs at The Immokalee Foundation

Naples, FL – The Immokalee Foundation’s Amber Barr was recently promoted to Vice President of Programs. Barr joined the Foundation in 2015 as a Program Specialist, subsequently receiving promotions to Coordinator, Program Director, and Vice President.

“Amber has demonstrated exceptional leadership and a strong work ethic and has been instrumental in driving the success of our student programs,” said Noemi Y. Perez, President and CEO of The Immokalee Foundation. “As Vice President of Programs, Amber will oversee all aspects of our program operations and activities. This includes development, implementation, and evaluation to improve program outcomes and ensure that our programs align with The Immokalee Foundation’s mission of providing Immokalee’s best and brightest young people with new pathways to success.”

For over 31 years, The Immokalee Foundation has been preparing the next generation of leaders through a 100% focus on education, career readiness, and professional development for students in Immokalee—from kindergarten through postsecondary education.

Barr leads a programming team of 20 professionals preparing students for well-paying, in-demand professional careers in Business Management & Entrepreneurship, Education & Human Services, Engineering & Construction Management and Healthcare.

She has been an active member in the Out-of-School-Time Initiative with the Naples Children & Education Foundation (NCEF) for the last eight years, collaborating with Immokalee-based non-profits to leverage resources, share costs, and ultimately serve more Immokalee students with much-needed academic resources. Amber was also a part of the Associate Leadership Collier Class of 2020.

“Equal access to education and opportunities for youth will always be my top passion,” said Barr. “As a first-generation college graduate, I will always fight for equal access and ensure all students are able to find their individual pathway to success.”

Barr earned her B.A. from the University of Florida and her M.A. from Marian University.
