AT&T upgrades wireless network and boosts speeds in Southwest Florida

AT&T* has expanded its 5G network in Southwest Florida, giving residents, businesses, and visitors a big boost in their wireless connectivity. AT&T added three new cell sites to enhance the area’s coverage and capacity.

The new cell sites will boost coverage and capacity in the areas of:
• Naples – Improves coverage to nearby residential and rural areas near Kapok St. and Frangipani Ave.
• Moore Haven – Improves coverage and capacity along US 27 between Whidden Corner and Clewiston.
• Okeechobee – Improves coverage and capacity in the Brighton Reservation and surrounding areas, including North to SR70 and South towards SR 78 (Lakeport).

“At AT&T, we’re continuing to invest in our mobile broadband network in communities across Florida to make wireless connections easier for residents, visitors, businesses and first responders throughout our state. These new sites will connect our customers to greater possibility,” said Joe York, President, AT&T Gulf States.

AT&T 5G brings fast, reliable, and secure connectivity to more than 300 million people in over 24,900 cities and towns nationwide, including Naples and Moore Haven. This helps Florida residents and businesses get the best possible experience over the AT&T network wherever they live, work, and play.

These enhancements also bring Band 14 spectrum to the area. Band 14 is a nationwide, high-quality spectrum set aside by the government specifically for FirstNet® – the only nationwide communications network created with and for public safety. We look at Band 14 as public safety’s VIP lane. In an emergency, this band – or lane – can be cleared and locked exclusively for FirstNet subscribers. When not in use by FirstNet subscribers, AT&T customers can enjoy Band 14’s added coverage and capacity.

From 2019 to 2023, AT&T invested more than $5.4 billion in our wireless and wireline networks in Florida. These investments boost reliability, coverage, speed and overall performance for residents and their businesses.
