Bonita Springs Councilman Fred Forbes Elected to Serve on Florida League of Cities Board of Directors

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The Florida League of Cities, the united voice for Florida’s municipal governments, announced that Bonita Spring’s Councilman Fred Forbes was recently elected to serve on the Florida League of Cities Board of Directors.

Fred Forbes said, “I am honored to have been voted on to be a Member of Board of Florida League of Cities representing our SW League Chapter as the District Eleven Director.” The Florida League of Cities is the united voice for Florida’s municipal governments. Its goals are to serve the needs of Florida’s cities and promote local self-government. The Board of Directors provides organizational leadership and guidance to the association and is comprised of municipal officials from across the state. Each member of the board will serve a one-year term.

“I believe I can make meaningful contributions to the FLC organization by establishing goals and implementing plans that are supported by the Board. I am a strong advocate of Home-Rule and have worked to preserve and enhance our position with our lawmakers. I believe under the leadership of the League’s President Tony Ortiz, the Florida League of Cities has been taken to next level of Home-Rule Advocacy’”, said Fred Forbes, President of the regional Southwest Florida League of Cities Chapter and Florida League of Cities District 11 Board Member.
