BSU announces water conservation poster contest student winners
Bonita Springs Utilities Inc. has announced the winners of its 2026 “Drop Savers” water conservation poster contest:
• Melvin Axel Cavero Cruz, Bonita Springs Charter School, first grade, Division 1
• Paige Walter, Bonita Springs Charter School, third grade, Division 2
• Valerie Perez, Bonita Springs Charter School, fifth grade, Division 3
Conducted in partnership with the Florida Section of the American Water Works Association, BSU coordinated with Bonita Springs and Estero elementary and middle schools to inspire students to create a poster depicting a water conservation idea. The annual contest encourages students to proactively think about the importance of water conservation in their daily routines and promote water awareness.
The winners were chosen based on the water conservation message, creativity and originality shown through their artwork. BSU presented each winner with an award certificate, a $50 Target gift card and a $25 Royal Scoop ice cream gift card.
“These student artists demonstrated tremendous creativity and a strong commitment to water conservation, and we couldn’t be prouder of their efforts,” said Andy Koebel, BSU executive director. “By encouraging young people to develop water-saving habits today, we are helping protect our valuable water resources for generations to come.”
