CBIA’s Tatiana Gust named 2023 Woman of Distinction by Florida Home Builders Association
Naples, Fla. — Collier Building Industry Association Board of Directors Member and County Government Affairs Chair Tatiana Gust, CEO of Elite Permits, received the 2023 Woman of Distinction Award from the Florida Home Builders Association (FHBA) during its annual Fall Conference.
Held at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, more than 6,300 individuals were registered for the conference, with attendance surpassing any year in recent history.
“While so few women are experts in the construction arena, Tatiana Gust is one who truly stands out,” said CBIA Executive Officer Amelia Vasquez. “Her experience in both the private and public sectors of construction has been an invaluable resource to CBIA and its members. We are most appreciative of her trusted knowledge and expertise on important matters facing our industry, as well as her leadership and support in construction industry processes.”
For the past four years, Gust has served as CBIA’s Collier County/ City of Naples Government Affairs Council Chair and CBIA Board of Directors member. She also serves as the CBIA Liaison on the Collier County Fire Marshall’s Association. She is well-versed in state building codes, state fire codes, and county ordinances. Gust leads CBIA’s legislative efforts at the county level, monitoring and offering input on potential state legislative matters affecting southwest Florida. She participates in one-on-one meetings with county commissioners, county manager and state leadership delegation members on critical issues facing southwest Florida’s building industry. Gust provides valuable input at monthly builder roundtable meetings with Collier County Growth Management leadership, County Building Official and City of Naples Building Official, lending invaluable time and research on proposed ordinance changes, offering examples of specific language and its location within state building codes. She is also a member of the Manatee Sarasota Building Industry Association,
Originally from Santiago, Chile, Gust founded Elite Permits in 2013 after working in the Collier County Building Department. She is a licensed professional engineer with a master’s degree and a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering and construction. She serves the community as a member of the Naples High School Engineering Academy Advisory Board and participates in youth ministry with her local church.
Earlier last summer during the Southeast Building Conference, numerous CBIA member companies were honored during the annual Aurora Awards Gala.
