Christopher Alan Homes’ Captiva model wins Southwest Florida Parade of Home awards for best exterior and main living area

The Captiva, a single-family model home by Christopher Alan Homes, received two awards during the annual Southwest Florida Parade of Homes presented by the Charlotte-DeSoto Building Industry Association. Located in The Hammocks at West Port in Port Charlotte, the professionally decorated model received awards for best exterior for a home priced under $403,999 and best main living area.

“It’s an honor to be recognized by our peers,” said Ian Schmoyer, president of Christopher Alan Homes. “Receiving awards for both the exterior and interior of our model really speaks to our commitment of providing homeowners with beautiful, livable and high-quality homes at attainable prices.”

The recently completed three-bedroom, two-bath model home features an inviting covered front porch with two Adirondack chairs, a paver driveway and walkway and coastal-inspired architecture accented with board-and-batten. Inside, the model reflects a relaxed, serene Florida lifestyle with an open floor plan blending great room, kitchen and dining into a large gathering space for entertaining.

The Captiva’s color palette of white, gray, navy blue and natural wood tones accented with bright sapphire and rustic wood-look tile floors creates a welcoming ambiance throughout its 1,719 square feet of living space. Tray ceilings and walls are embellished with moldings.

The openness of the main gathering area is enhanced by large impact-resistant windows which welcome natural sunlight and showcase preserve views. The scale of the rooms accommodates a sectional sofa and a sculptured armchair upholstered in sapphire in the great room and a dining table for six illuminated by a chandelier reminiscent of a beach lantern. A sliding glass door flows to the spacious screened covered lanai, clad in a paver floor with a dining area and a cozy sitting area for two mingling white, light wood tones and natural woven textures.

Quartz countertops and designer cabinetry with crown molding set the tone for the all-white kitchen, which offers stainless-steel appliances and a walk-in corner pantry. A center island, equipped with a dishwasher and double sink, provides additional workspace and casual dining at the breakfast bar.

Designed for privacy, the primary suite has two walk-in closets and a spacious bedroom with a sand-hued accent wall behind the sapphire upholstered headboard. Soft blue-gray and white create a spa-inspired ambiance in the primary bathroom, which features wood tile flooring, stone countertops, a walk-in shower and dual-sink vanity.

A guestroom is rendered in tasteful tie-dyed blues and whites with sapphire accenting the upholstered headboard. A paddleboard hanging from a wall painted light blue and gray references the area’s access to scenic rivers and waterways.

A home office in the third bedroom illustrates the versatility of the Captiva floor plan. A window overlooks the front porch. A stripe of soft blue accents the walls and references shades elsewhere in the model.

Located at 1496 Sunset Preserve Way, the Captiva model also serves as the sales center for Christopher Alan Homes in The Hammocks at West Port and is open for viewing 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday and noon to 6 p.m., Sunday.

Christopher Alan Homes also offers three additional single-family home designs in The Hammocks, a neighborhood of 111 homes created through a strategic partnership with West Port developer Kolter Group. Floor plans feature 1,550 to 1,962 square feet under air, three and four bedrooms, up to two-and-a-half baths and two-car garages. High-end interior features include designer cabinetry, stone countertops in kitchens and baths, tile flooring in main living areas and stainless-steel kitchen appliances. Several quick move-in homes are available.

Homes in The Hammocks are priced from the mid-$300,000s.
Christopher Alan Homes is a builder-owned company affiliated with Barron Collier Companies. It was the only local homebuilder among Southwest Florida’s top five builders for single-family residential permitted units in 2022, ranking fourth against a field of national companies.

Committed to the highest standards in building and energy efficiency, all Christopher Alan homes feature steel-reinforced concrete masonry construction, hurricane-resistant structural design and impact-rated low-e glass doors and windows for added safety and peace of mind.

Christopher Alan Homes is a preferred builder at Babcock Ranch, America’s first solar-powered town, and Burnt Store Village. The company also builds on scattered homesites in Charlotte, Sarasota and Lee counties in Southwest Florida and Melbourne and Palm Bay on Florida’s East Central Space Coast, and is planning to open a new division in Tampa mid-2023.
