Collier County Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB) at work

The economic challenges of this COVID-19 pandemic era cannot be underestimated.  The unemployment figures for Florida, and the nation, say it all.  As we slowly, very slowly, return to some kind of normalcy, a new normalcy with social distancing and mask-wearing, the carnage of the effects of closing down the economy remain with us.  When speaking with several of our local businesses, the theme of marketing with a unified voice, a blended message, came up again and again.

The Collier County Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) has introduced a program that was passed today by the Tourist Development Council (TDC) and will come before the Board of County Commissioners on June 9, 2020.  The CVB is seeking approval to tap into their Emergency Fund to assist through a matching dollar process, in the marketing needs of retail, hotel and restaurant businesses county-wide.

Over the course of a year and throughout three phases as outlined by the CVB this morning, matching dollars will be made available to businesses.  The business must market our destination, not their individual business.  The opportunity to market our destination with a blended message is an opportunity that should not be missed.  As always, our office is here to help with any questions you may have.
