Collier County tourism’s April visitation rates surpass 2019 numbers

Naples, Marco Island, Everglades CVB reports strong visitation numbers for the month of April, signifying that the destination has turned the corner on the pandemic. As visitor numbers have steadily increased over the last few months, they have now surpassed 2019 for the same period, marking a significant milestone for the destination. Reports show a dramatic influx of in-state visitors, as well as from the Southeast and Midwest during the period, and an increase in room nights from 2019 (+24%).

“This latest set of visitation numbers tell a remarkable turnaround story for the destination,” said Naples, Marco Island, Everglades CVB Executive Director Jack Wert. “Not only have we completely caught up to our 2019 numbers, but many of the metrics for 2021 have even surpassed those figures. Tourism on Florida’s Paradise Coast is once again thriving, and we couldn’t be more appreciative of all of our partners who have continued to make visitors feel safe and welcome during the preceding year.”
