Commissioners approve contracts for construction, improvements to sites on Fort Myers Beach

The Lee Board of County Commissioners voted Tuesday to approve two construction contracts for Lynn Hall Memorial Park and Crescent Beach Family Park improvements for damages sustained by Hurricane Ian in 2022.

Lynn Hall Memorial Park: The $6 million contract awarded to Wright Construction Group, Inc. includes:

  • Replacing some ADA-accessible boardwalks, three 625-square-foot picnic shelters with grills
  • Public parking
  • Landscaping
  • Lighting
  • Signage
  • Construction of a 4,114-square-foot elevated restroom building with an ADA platform lift

This project will be funded with FEMA funds, Regional Park impact fees and Tourist Development Taxes through the Beach and Shoreline Program. Construction is anticipated to begin February 2026, pending permit approvals, with estimated completion in early summer 2027.

Crescent Beach Family Park: The $1.3 million contract awarded to Vantage Construction Services, LLC includes:

  • Shade structures and utility connections for the ADA-compliant modular restroom facility
  • Integrated bike racks
  • Picnic area
  • Landscaped pedestrian path
  • Four beach access points will be provided, including one ADA-accessible route, improving park accessibility and visitor experience

This project will be funded by FEMA funds, Regional Park impact fees and Tourist Development Taxes through the Beach and Shoreline Program. Construction is anticipated to begin January 2026 with estimated completion in early summer 2026.
