Alyson Lundell, APR, CPRC presents Marketing Director at CONRIC pr + marketing Kirsten O’Donnell with a Golden Image Award of Distinction for the agency’s work on Calusa Waterkeeper’s “Saving Estero Bay” virtual fundraiser.

FORT MYERS, Fla. – CONRIC pr + marketing earned an Award of Distinction in the Virtual Special Event category, one of the first ever to be awarded at the Florida Public Relations Association’s (FPRA) 2021 Golden Image Awards. CONRIC was recognized for event planning and public relations strategies that contributed to the success of Calusa Waterkeeper’s “Saving Estero Bay” virtual fundraiser.

FPRA’s 2021 Golden Image Awards were presented at the Ritz-Carlton Orlando Grande Lakes on Aug. 10, during the 82nd Annual FPRA Conference. The Golden Image Awards competition is conducted annually by FPRA to recognize outstanding public relations programs in Florida and to encourage and promote the development of public relations in the state. Golden Image Award winners demonstrate the very best examples of innovation, planning and design.

With COVID-19 restricting in-person events, many companies and organizations turned to virtual gatherings in 2020, which prompted the addition of a Virtual Special Event award category to this year’s award lineup. “Saving Estero Bay ” was Calusa Waterkeeper’s first virtual fundraiser and documentary film premiere, organized after the nonprofit was forced to cancel its in-person event and largest annual fundraiser. CONRIC’s efforts resulted in Calusa Waterkeeper’s highest-earning event ever.

“It is a tremendous honor to be recognized for our team’s strategic planning, hard work and dedication to excellence that contributed to our client’s record-breaking virtual fundraising event,” said Connie Ramos-Williams, CONRIC president and chief marketing officer. “I couldn’t be prouder of our CONRIC pr + marketing team and more excited for Calusa Waterkeeper’s continued success.”

CONRIC surpassed all of Calusa Waterkeeper’s “Saving Estero Bay” objectives, including fundraising goals, live event views across all platforms, and earned media impressions. It also came in under budget and produced the best expense-to-revenue ratio for the nonprofit to date.
