Coronavirus Updates Within Collier County

By Naples, Marco Island, Everglades CVB Executive Director, Jack Wert

Your CVB team continues to develop new ways to help our tourism partner businesses through this difficult time. We just completed a new version of our video message to potential visitors that are still stuck in their homes. It is called “See You When This is Over” and here is the link to watch: https://vimeopro.com/paradiseagency/cct-0441

This video will be streaming into homes throughout the southeast to let everyone know that we are not going anywhere and cannot wait to welcome back visitors to Florida’s Paradise Coast. Please share this new video with your customers in your own communications.

The Collier County Commission has voted to reopen our County beaches and our playing fields and hard courts beginning at sunrise on Thursday, April 30.

National Travel and Tourism week is May 3-9 and we will be reminding our residents of the many reasons that visitors benefit our community. Here are a few examples:

  • 1.9 million visitors spent $2.3 billion in our community in 2019.
  • 40,500 of our friends and family earn their livelihood from visitor spending.
  • Collier homeowners saved $1,043 dollars in taxes resulting from that visitor spending.

We will be introducing a new Partner Tool Kit as part of that Tourism Week celebration. We hope you will use the many photos, videos, logos and other helpful information to supplement your message to bring your customers back when the time is right.

The Collier County Commission, advised by a special Task Force, will review the safe ways to reopen our community and get our citizens back to work. As those plans unfold, we will keep you in the know so you can share them with your current and soon to be employees.

I know we are all anxious to get our economy moving again, and together we can and will do it right. The growth years will return if we remain patient and safe.
