CRA approves improvement matching grants for Downtown and Cleveland Ave.
The Fort Myers Community Redevelopment Agency recently approved Commercial Property Improvement Matching Grants for the Downtown and Cleveland Avenue redevelopment areas.
The first grant is in the not-to-exceed amount of $12,675.00 for Dylan Hissam & Associates, property located at 1937 Grace Ave. in Fort Myers. The grant will be used to replace damaged glass blocks on the frontage and side of the building.
The second grant was approved for Optimum Care SWFL, property located at 2023 Canal St. in Fort Myers in the in the not-to-exceed amount of $50,000. The funds will be used for exterior patching and painting, exterior paver installation, new fencing, parking lot installation, new signage and soffit and fascia replacement.
The third approved grant was awarded to Twenty-One Hundred Second Street, property located at 1715 Monroe St. in Fort Myers in the not-to exceed amount of $100,000 for exterior patching and painting.
The final grant was approved in the not-to exceed amount of $13,393.50 for Naples International Film Co., property located at 2027 Monroe St. in Fort Myers. The grant will be used for exterior patching and painting, garage door replacement and signage.
The CRA Commercial Property Improvement Grant Program is a matching grant for commercial property owners and businesses within Fort Myers redevelopment areas. The maximum potential grant available for a project in Tier I is 75 percent of the total eligible expenditure, with a maximum award of $50,000. The Fort Myers CRA has offered commercial preservation incentives/ grant programs since 2010 and grant awards are based on the availability of funds.
