CREW Trust certified as authentic ecotour operator
The Corkscrew Regional Ecosystem Watershed Land and Water Trust (CREW Trust) proudly announces its official certification as an authentic ecotour provider by the Florida Society for Ethical Ecotourism (FLSEE). This prestigious recognition underscores CREW Trust’s commitment to sustainability, environmental stewardship, and exceptional eco-educational experiences.
The certification process evaluates providers against rigorous criteria, including environmental responsibility, sustainable practices, and ethical business operations. CREW Trust exceeded these standards, garnering a Platinum Level Certification—the highest level—showcasing its dedication to protecting Southwest Florida’s unique ecosystems and fostering a deep appreciation for the natural world.
“As a founding member of the FLSEE, we welcome certification as an acknowledgment of our commitment to the principles of sustainable eco-tourism and FLSEE’s professional code of ecotourism ethics,” said Robert Lucius, Executive Director of CREW Trust. “We’re proud to join the growing list of other certified commercial and non-profit partners that have taken this important step and are looking forward to working alongside them to advance sustainable ecotourism throughout Florida.”
For more than 30 years, CREW Trust has been at the forefront of environmental conservation in Southwest Florida. Through guided hikes and educational programs, the Trust has connected thousands of residents and visitors to the region’s vital wetlands, uplands, and wildlife habitats.
The FLSEE certification further strengthens CREW Trust’s role as a leader in the ecotourism sector. It offers experiences with minimal environmental impact and enriches the understanding and appreciation of Florida’s natural heritage.
