Cypress Lake Golf Club has promoted Rebecca Morse from assistant tennis pro to director of tennis, a position in which she leads all tennis-related activities at the country club.

In this role, Morse provides individual instruction and group lessons for members with beginning, intermediate and advanced skill levels. She also coordinates tennis events, including seasonal and year-round leagues, tournaments, clinics and social outings.

Cypress Lake features six lighted Har-Tru clay courts available for daytime and evening play. The club’s tennis shop offers racquets, balls, clothing and other tennis accessories, while the lounge offers members a comfortable place to gather and relax. The club’s staff are United States Professional Tennis Association (USPTA) and Professional Tennis Registry (PTR) tennis professionals.

Morse is a Southwest Florida native who has played tennis since the age of seven and competed on the United States Tennis Association (USTA) circuit as a youth. She graduated in 2015 from Cypress Lake High School in Fort Myers, where she was a four-star prospect and captured the District 2A-11 singles title as a senior. She played on a full ride scholarship at Appalachian State University in North Carolina, closing her senior year going undefeated in conference doubles.

Morse spent her summers during college working as a tennis pro shop manager and instructor in Massachusetts as she completed a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from Appalachian State.

After graduating, Morse earned certifications through the USPTA and Safe Play, and began working as a head tennis pro at an upscale residential community in Bonita Springs. Morse joined Cypress Lake Golf Club in 2021 as an assistant tennis pro who coached ladies’ league teams, provided member management services, developed junior tennis programs, performed court maintenance and helped organize club tennis events.

“Rebecca has lived and breathed tennis since she was a child, and she has brought that energy and excitement for the sport to our club,” said Brian Hart, PGA, Cypress Lake’s director of membership and marketing. “Our members include beginners who are stepping on the court for the first time, as well as those who have been playing their whole lives, and Rebecca is making sure that everyone is maximizing their memberships and enjoying the game that we all love.”
