DeRomo’s Welcomes Culinary Director with Decades of World Cuisine Experience

BONITA SPRINGS, Fla. (Aug. 24, 2020) — As DeRomo’s Gourmet Market & Restaurant prepares for in-season venue enhancements, it is proud to welcome LJ Cousson as Director of Culinary. He will oversee customer service and product supply as well as ensure a focus on true, traditional, old-world Italian cuisine with a new-world twist.

Cousson has 38 years of culinary experience, specifically in the fine dining sector of the hospitality industry. That includes nearly two decades as Executive Sous Chef for Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts and nearly a combined decade as Executive Chef for The University Club and Kinkhead’s — all in Washington, D.C.

In 2012, Cousson took on an Executive Chef role at The Country Club at Woodmore in Maryland, further honing his fine dining skills, while meeting requests from business luncheons to casual dinners. His last stop before DeRomo’s was TPC (Tournament Players Club) Sawgrass on Ponte Vedra Beach. There, Cousson served as Executive Chef of NINETEEN — an American and continental restaurant that capitalizes on fresh seasonal fare via al fresco meals. Jacksonville Magazine voted it one of Jacksonville’s Top 25 restaurants for the past three years. NINETEEN was also the recipient of the 2019 Golden Spoon Award by Florida Trend.

Now, Cousson will enhance market and restaurant food items at DeRomo’s and create an in-season menu that features a wider variety of famous Italian seafood dishes.

This indicates that he will not lose sight of what makes DeRomo’s such a popular destination for authentic Italian cuisine.
