NAPLES, Fla. – Elite Jets, a charter air service that operates from its private terminal at the Naples Airport, has achieved the WYVERN “Wingman” status. WYVERN is a global air safety auditor.

The WYVERN Wingman Standard is the first air charter audit standard in the aviation industry. To earn the Wingman designation, charter companies must undergo a comprehensive audit that includes a full review of the company’s operational history, safety records, Safety Management System (SMS), internal evaluation program, administrative compositions, technical documentation, pilot and aircraft records, training requirements and maintenance operations, including the training and experience of technicians.

WYVERN’s rating system is intended to help aviation companies improve their performance as well as serve as a reference when travelers are choosing an air charter service.

Elite Jets owns four Embraer Phenom 300 jets, an Embraer Legacy 500 jet and a Bell 407 JetRanger helicopter, and the company also provides charter and management services for a Gulfstream G550 jet. From its base in Naples, the company transports business and leisure travelers to destinations across North, Central and South America, as well as the Caribbean, and can complete long-haul flights to Europe and Asia.

“Safety has been our focus from day one, and that goes well beyond the mechanical side to also include training programs, cleaning protocol, documentation and adherence to best practices in the aviation industry,” said Stephen Myers, CAM, executive vice president at Elite Jets. “Earning WYVERN Wingman status shows that we’re not just meeting safety standards; it means that as an organization, we are committed to it.”

“WYVERN was able to validate that the Safety Management System in place at Elite Jets not only reflected a Level 2 system maturity, but we were able to understand and appreciate how Elite Jets has made safety a core value, and not just a lot of words,” added Andrew Day, WYVERN’s senior vice president for operations.

In addition to WYVERN Wingman status, Elite Jets also is a platinum-rated charter through ARGUS and maintains a Stage 2 Seal through International Standard for Business Aircraft Operations (ISBAO).
