Estero High School Students’ Receive Awards for their Designs for an Estero Veterans Pocket Park

Five Estero High School students were presented awards for their design entries for a proposed “Veterans Community Pocket Park” in Estero. This project has been the focus of several local organizations, including The ECCL and a member of the Estero Village Council. It involved creating a small park to honor Veterans and provide a pleasant attractive location where veterans, their families and children can enjoy some time to reflect on their service to our country.

After speaking to the teachers at Estero High School, they considered the idea to be great project for their students to become involved with. 20 students prepared their well-conceived designs, all of which were examined by Estero residents in an online survey executed by the ECCL. Over 504 residents participated in the survey that resulted in the following winners. The ECCL congratulates all who took part in the project for their enthusiasm, commitment and their excellent work.

Chris Patricca of the Lee County School Board presented the awards on behalf of The ECCL to the winners at Estero High School.
