ADA WORKSHOP: How to ensure your company is ADA Compliant
At The Greater Naples Chamber of Commerce, we believe in continued education of the community to further enhance our workforce. The Professional Education Series provides a platform to highlight expertise in your industry to community and Chamber members.

Likely many of the transactional websites across the country are not ADA-compliant. This can mean potential lawsuits for retailers, banks, medical facilities, restaurants, and other places open to the public that serve customers that are deaf, blind or color-blind, or have learning disabilities. Porter Wright’s (Top 200) Labor and Employment partner, Jamie LaPlante, has seen a dramatic increase in litigation activity and threatened litigation by plaintiffs against places of public accommodation related to website accessibility. If you either (a) transact business with the public over your website or (b) integrate your web presence with the in-person experience at physical locations, you are likely at risk of a lawsuit or threatened lawsuit. Many businesses are being proactive and bringing their websites into compliance with WCAG 2.0—the current standard being pursued in litigation by plaintiffs and the U.S. Department of Justice.

Join Jamie and her colleague, Tony McClure, as they discuss this growing challenge. The team will share their experience and ADA best practices, so business leaders can become better informed and safeguard their businesses to ensure compliance.
