Everglades Wonder Gardens Appoints Jacob Winge As Vice President of Environmental Education

Bonita Springs, FL – August 3, 2020 – The Everglades Wonder Gardens has announced the appointment of Jacob Winge as the Vice President of Environmental Education. The Everglades Wonder Gardens, a not -for-profit (501©3) botanical garden and zoo. A premier natural attraction for almost ninety years and the jewel of downtown Bonita Springs. Restored wildlife habitats, botanical exhibits and natural beauty create a beautiful home for dozens of birds, alligators, flamingoes, reptiles, and butterflies throughout hundreds of sub-tropical plants. 

Winge will lead strategic partnership efforts, community relations, fundraising and environmental Learning Center marketing initiatives as well as oversee the formation of staff and the development efforts of the  on the grounds of the Wonder Gardens – a historical asset to our SWFL community and establish environmental learning programs for all ages. “I am excited to serve our community in establishing a leading environmental learning center here in the heart of SWFL” said Winge.

A Native of SWFL and Fourth Generation Floridian he recently served as the Field Marketing Manager for the United Group of Companies. Jacob has been a stalwart advocate for local history and our environment; a Past President of the East Naples Civic Association and The Friends of the Collier County Museums, Winge led fundraising campaigns, major educational events and strategic planning initiatives. He is a 2019 Graduate of Leadership Collier and a 2015 Graduate of Associate Leadership Collier. Jacob is a graduate student at Hodges University, an alumnus of Florida SouthWestern State College, where he served as the State President of the Florida College System Student Government Association, and a graduate of Barron Collier High School.
