FEMA seeks vendors to help property owners with housing needs following Helene and Milton

FEMA is seeking vendors for its Direct Lease and Multifamily Lease and Repair programs for temporary housing for individuals and families in Florida displaced by Hurricanes Helene and Milton.

FEMA will host a virtual informational session starting at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 21 via Zoom. Vendors attending the event will learn of requirements for leasing directly through FEMA to house disaster survivors.

Potential vendors include property management companies or property owners of multifamily units in and around western Florida area. FEMA is interested in leasing units that are ready to occupy or units that may need some repair prior to leasing. These units will be used to temporarily house disaster survivors who are unable to live in damaged dwelling

FEMA will present information about the programs and allow for questions. Vendors can also submit their questions ahead of the event by emailing: [email protected]

Pre-registration is required. To register go to: https://fema.zoomgov.com/webinar/register/WN_e6LvdiZxQ3uIbM2f9fsXHQ#/registratio

All registration requests must be completed by Wednesday, Nov. 20. Participants can submit questions ahead of time by emailing [email protected]. This is a great opportunity for local businesses to meet one on one to learn about the Direct Lease Program and how to do business with FEMA. Through FEMA’s Direct Lease program, you can help house a family in need and receive fair and stable compensation for doing so.

Reference information is also available on FEMA’s Doing Business with FEMA webpage. FEMA also released Requests for Information on SAM.gov for both the Direct Housing Program and the Multifamily Lease and Repair Program. SAM.gov is the official system for the federal government’s contracting opportunities and information. Interested parties can also ask questions through that system or by emailing: fema-direct-lease- [email protected] (Direct Lease) or [email protected] (Multifamily Lease and Repair).
