Flagg joins Henderson Franklin as an associate in tort and insurance litigation

University of Miami School of Law graduate John (“Jack”) Flagg has joined Henderson, Franklin, Starnes & Holt as an associate in the tort and insurance litigation department. He will handle insurance defense claims involving premises liability, automobile, and personal injury matters.

Flagg joins the firm after the successful completion of his summer internship with Henderson Franklin. He knew he wanted to be a lawyer, like his father, from a young age. He has fond memories of learning about insurance defense law through their conversations and interning at his father’s firm. He developed a passion for the courtroom and embraced the challenge and pressure of going to trial.

Flagg believes that maintaining a strong, open and trusting relationship with the client is the most important aspect of effective representation. While in law school, he focused on civil litigation work in areas like torts and business litigation. He studied antitrust law heavily as it combined his prowess for economics with his growing legal acumen. Flagg also had the experience of being a certified legal intern with the Miami-Dade State Attorney’s Office, where he gained comfort in the courtroom and was allowed to prosecute traffic and misdemeanor cases under the Assistant State Attorney’s supervision.

Flagg is admitted to practice in all Florida state courts. He obtained his bachelor of arts from the University of Virginia and his Juris Doctorate from the University of Miami School of Law. At both universities, he was repeatedly on the Dean’s list. He was honored to serve as an articles and comments editor for its Business Law Review publication during law school.

Born in Miami, Flagg moved to Naples with his family for his middle and high school years. He speaks Spanish fluently and would love to travel the world. At home, he enjoys cooking for his family and friends. Flagg is a competitive athlete at heart and will often spend his free time playing tennis or golf or watching his beloved Miami sports teams.

Flagg is a member of the Lee County Bar Association and Young Lawyers Division. He is enthusiastic about contributing to the Southwest Florida community through volunteer opportunities in the future.
