Florida International Air Show Announces New Executive Leadership Team

Dana Carr, Denise Dull and Stan Smith, FIAS Executive Leadership Team

Punta Gorda, FL  – In a board meeting held earlier this month, the Florida International Air Show Board of Directors voted in a changing of leadership which included a monumental changing of the guard. For the first time in its 42-year history, the organization has named Denise Dull, President of its Executive Leadership Team. Denise joined the board last year for the 40th Annual Air Show serving as a Co-Director of Vending & Concessions. Denise has served as a past Charlotte County Chamber President, past Charlotte County Hospitality Association President and is currently employed by the Gulf Coast Partnership as the Director of Landlord Engagement where she helps to educate and advocate for the need for affordable and sustainable housing for at risk populations and military families. “I find this the perfect fit for the work that I do at the Gulf Coast Partnership, its housing projects through PORCH for Vets and the programs we work with through the County’s Veteran Services Department. I’ve volunteered at the Air Show for several years and absolutely love it! I get to bring the work I do every day, together with creating an amazing event around Veterans and our military. How is that not a dream come true!”

Stan Smith, immediate past President, will become the newly appointed Chairman, a position previously held by Dana Carr. Dana, we are happy to announce, will continue serving as a valued member of the Board of Directors.

The Florida International Air Show, rated one of the top ten best air shows around the world by USA Today, is a favorite to both performers and fans alike. The upcoming 2023 air show will prove to be just as spectacular with the
return of the USAF Thunderbirds on November 4th & 5th with a family and fan-friendly event, a large variety of acts, concessions, and interactive displays. The event will return to the Punta Gorda Airport after taking a year off in 2022. The Punta Gorda Airport has hosted the event since its inception and will be highlighting a newly renovated runway.
